Who We Are

Living Peace Institute (LPI) is a Congolese non-governmental organization based in Goma since 2015. We work to promote mental health, psychosocial well-being, and social cohesion in communities affected by armed conflict.

Our programs support individuals, families, and communities facing trauma, helping them rebuild their lives and strengthen peaceful relationships.

LPI considers the gendered impact of war and conflict on men and women, boys and girls as crucial entry factors for ending SGBV in public and private spaces.

Our Vision

Our vision is to contribute to societies where men and women live in peace in their homes and in their communities and in which children grow up in a stable and peaceful environment

Our Mission

LPI’s mission is to strengthen peace in communities affected by violence by delivering and supporting MHPSS programmes that are trauma-informed, gender transformative, and engage men and boys. LPI promotes evidence-led practice and wider systems change through training, capacity building and research.
